Upcoming plans for restoration,

Well since I've last posted I've discovered three major problems, for one the exhaust is rusting off, but that's not a big deal-open pipes is awesome!  My radiator has a small leak somewhere, and I'm leaking brake fluid somewhere near my transmission pan.

I've got on Amazon and ordered Walker Exhaust 40340 Y-Pipe, this will convert my dual rusty exhaust to a single exhaust.  Every website tells you this won't fit the 5.7L but I've been reassured by someone on a Chevelle restoration website that it indeed did work on his car, he encountered the same issue (The 72 Spring was based on the 72 Chevelle).

I've also ordered a new FRAM BA19 Crankcase Breather Filter for my intake filter-mine was pretty done with.

Lastly I've ordered the  good ol Walker exhaust gaskets to nicely seal my exhaust system. I'm doing this the right way.  Walker Exhaust 31400 Hardware-Gasket.

My theory for doing this is a little bit of weight reduction and cost reduction. I'm not looking to build a fast and furious beast but rather a beautiful restoration vehicle that performs well, I'm focusing my spending on mpg producing things right now, among the essentials.  I'm going to research the brake leak and likely purchase a whole new brake line system if it is a bit too hard to find the culprit.

Looks like a late Christmas for the Sprint, but a whole new exhaust system done properly and not redneck is going to look BEAUTIFUL and perform WONDERFULLY, as well as sound proper!  Stay tuned for the in depth installation that will be coming in the next few weeks (once it's warm enough outside to do it.)

New Parts for da car!

Well since last post I've had my ups and downs with the car, the main issue is this crappy exhaust system which I will be replacing soon!  However in the meantime I thought I would cheer myself up of this crappy classic and beautify it a bit, if you notice the turn signal lights are different colors, one amber and the other white/clear.  I got two new white/clear lights, and some other goodies which will arrive in a day or two.

I've also removed the radio and ripped out the wiring, I made some custom speaker boxes for a nice 4x6 set of boss speakers I plan on installing in the back behind the seats.  I've already got one box set in there, with the wiring ran to the factory radio however the wiring was so jacked up I am starting fresh and taking it to get professionally installed.

More to follow soon.... with pictures!

2010 Pontiac G8 Sport-Truck

Well Tomorrow I am planning on doing maintenance to the interior of the Sprint, and get it ready for a make over... I was doing good research and came across a car that Pontiac is making, still unnamed but wow!

Dead Battery

So among all the bootlegging it seems I have to go through to start the cruck, the battery died on me yesterday, went from charging it in the morning to just flat out dead. No biggy, a nice duralast battery at autozone with 800 cca ran me $104 and I still owe them a core.

Now I'm back to the basics, over the next 2-3 weeks I fully intend on doing the following:

*  Get the windshield re-sealed so there are absolutely NO leaks!  Can't ruin my future interior :-P
*  Weld the part of the frame that cracked that way my back end doesn't lag when I step on the gas, and so the entire back doesn't shake over every bump!
*  Buy at least one piece for the interior, likely candidate will be the insulation and carpet.  I've decided on black carpet.
